Re: It’s about corruption

It has been proven over and over again that you do not stimulate the economy by taking money away from the consumer. Let the consumer keep his money and he will spend or invest it. Every time the consumer can buy more things or even eat at a restaurant everyone profits. Trickle down economy does work.

How many times did mainland China reinstitute their five year reforms? It was not until the Communist government allowed people to earn and KEEP more of the rewards of their toil that China begin to prosper. The Chinese government allows Hong Kong to have different rules from the mainland BECAUSE of its successful practice of capitalism.

Yes, the Philippine is rife with corruption. Who is to blame? The blame lies squarely on the shoulders of the voters. To many times the ignorant voters rely on name recognition. How many of the elected officials have the same name as a predecessor with the same surname? How many are former movie stars or are married to a movie star. Many of these same voters also vote on a party line.

Also, the people seem to go along with the practice of bribery. Want something done? A little pabagsak seems to go a long in getting things resolved. Until this practice is eliminated things will never change.

I had high hopes for the Philippines when President Arroyo was elected. Here was a brilliant woman with a master’s degree in economics. Her only flaw was her husband. It was not too long before the corruption of her husband and sons got to her. You have to remember that power corrupts and the only way to stop the corruption is by voting the scalawags out.

Until the voters of the Philippines begin to vote intelligently the fate of the country is fore written.
