Pedestrian overpass instead of barriers

It’s good to learn that barriers along the highways should be removed because these are really hazardous to riding public but sometimes we have to consider also the people especially the kids when no one is attending to their safety in crossing these highways.
Instead of barriers, why not ask our politicos to construct pedestrian overpasses in these schools along the highway instead of constructing nonsense projects like waiting sheds or utilize the IRA shares of the concerned barangays than use it in barangay fiesta and not so important expenses.
