LINGAYEN–To save farmers and other poor sectors from the clutches of loan sharks, the provincial government has been offering loans with minimal interest rates as part of the livelihood assistance program. In December, more than P1.1 worth of livelihood assistance were given to nine women cooperatives.

LINGAYEN—The helping hand of the provincial government of Pangasinan was extended to as far as Northern Mindanao, donating P1 million each to the local government units of Iligan City and Cagayan de Oro City for the relief and rehabilitation of the victims of tropical storm “Sendong”.

LINGAYEN—“Keep everything simple but with substance.” This was the formula given by Vice Governor Ferdinand Jose Calimlim to the local government officials of the 44 towns and four cities of the province for effective delivery of services.

LINGAYEN–Another set of 4,500 mangrove seedlings were planted by more than a hundred environment advocates from various government and non-government agencies at the mangrove forest of the Provincial Mangrove Nursery at the Bolinao Farm foreshore area last December 15 to bolster Pangasinan’s Coastal Resource Management Program.
