South China-seaborne typhoons to Pangasinan and North Luzon seem to come more often! Of these three (3) typhoons, namely Gading, Cosme & Emong, the last that hit us was strongest but w/ least effect.
It would seem that Typhoons Gading and Cosme hit Pangasinan with the most devastating effect because from their tracks, these two tree uprooting wind stayed longer for a dip at Lingayen Gulf!
We are protected from Pacific Ocean borne tropical typhoons due to Cordilliera and the Sierra Madre mountain ranges but it appears that we are vulnerable to typhoons coming from the west.
Thus, the next time we hear typhoons coming from the west particularly from the South China Sea… I guess it’s not bad to gear up for the worse!
Take it easy!
