URBIZTONDO—There was no Ronnie Dayan, the driver of former Justice Secretary Leila De Lima, now a senator, found in simultaneous searches made by the police in several houses in Barangay Galarin in the early morning of Oct. 26.

The searches, undertaken at 5:50 a.m., was personally supervised by P/Sr. Supt. Ronald Oliver Lee, acting Pangasinan provincial director.

The simultaneous ‘One-Time Big Time’ operation covered by five search warrants, was made in the two houses allegedly owned by Dayan and four of his relatives.

Searched was the ‘White House’ one of the two houses of Dayan that his sister, whose husband is an engineer in Saudi Arabia, had claimed to be owned by her family.

Also searched were the houses of Wilfredo Casilang, Frankie Germono, Rodrigo Palisoc and William Perez, all Dayan’s relatives.

No illegal drugs or firearms were found in those searches witnessed by barangay officials and the media.

The search team was composed of personnel of the Urbiztondo Police Station, Provincial Investigation Division, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, Provincial Public Safety Company and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team.

Dayan is wanted by the Justice Committee of the House of Representatives for failure to appear during its investigation in aid of legislation into the illegal drug trade inside the New Bilibid Prison when De Lima was still the justice secretary.

Earlier, 2nd District Board Member Raul Sison, a distant relative of Dayan, urged Dayan to surrender and face investigation in order to clear his name. (Leonardo Micua)
