URBIZTONDO– The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) regional office recently turned over P400,000 check to the local government of Urbiztondo, signaling a new partnership on the government’s Bottom-up Budgeting (BUB).

DOLE-1 Regional Director Grace Ursua said the assistance will be used to purchase tools and equipment in order to boost the bamboo handicrafts-making business of the Urbiztondo Bamboo Handicrafts Workers composed of 80 members.

The LGU will shoulder P90, 000 for the beneficiaries’ micro insurance and skills training under TESDA, while the beneficiary association will provide the working area and will shoulder the electricity costs. (Tita Roces/ PIA)
