LINGAYEN– The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Regional Consular Office (RCO) in Calasiao will be able to process 250 applications a day initially once it opens its windows.

Jennifer Catherine Gapuz, officer-in-charge of the DFA office located at the second floor of Robinsons Place in Calasiao, told the provincial board last week.

When asked why the start of its operations have been delayed, Gapuz said the budget for RCOs in Calasiao and Dumaguete City were not included in the 2015 national budget but the opening is already assured with the approval of the supplemental budget.

So far, nine units of computer have arrived and the biometric machines will be delivered soon.

Other existing neighboring regional consular offices are in La Union and Baguio City.
Meanwhile, last June 30, the provincial board approved provincial resolution no. 635-2014 requesting the DFA and Robinsons Land Corporation to name the said DFA satellite office as Narciso Rueca Ramos Hall. (Johanne Macob)
