HOLDERS of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) eCard now get a 20 percent discount on top of the prevailing promo fares of Superferry, Supercat, and Cebu Ferries.

GSIS, the state-run pension fund for government employees, recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Aboitiz Transport System Corporation (ATSC), for the deal.

Each qualified GSIS member or pensioner is allowed to purchase a maximum of five tickets for every transaction.

“Our partnership with ATSC reflects our commitment to bringing more benefits to our members and pensioners through our eCard. Now our members and pensioners can travel to various destinations or visit their families more often at less cost,” GSIS president and general manager Winston Garcia said.

GSIS has been partnering with various institutions to expand the benefits for its members, including hospitalization and medicine discounts, and partial scholarship grants.

The GSIS eCard is a multi-purpose card that functions as an ATM card, a transaction card, and a debit card. Recently, the GSIS eCard has also been transformed into a Unified Multi-Purpose ID (UMID)-compliant eCard, making it a valid identification card not only for GSIS but also for SSS, PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG.
