Manufactures must secure permits from the PNP, Bureau of Fire Protection and Mayor’s permit prescribing safety rules.

She said P/Colonel Jeff Fanged, Pangasinan PPO director, already ordered the local police stations to inspect firecracker stalls, and to confiscate and destroy all illegal firecrackers.

Among the banned firecrackers are watusi, piccolo, pop-pop, five star, pla-pla, lolo thunder, giant bawang, giant whistle bomb, atomic bomb, super lolo, atomic triangle, goodbye bading, large Judas belt, goodbye Philippines, goodbye Delima, Bin Laden, hello Columbia, mother rocket, goodbye Napoles, coke-in-can, super Yolanda, pillbox, boga (improvised cannons, whether made of cans or PVC), kwiton, kabasi, and other oversized firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices (FCPD).

The law also prohibits all imported finished products, FCPDs, and other types similar to banned items.

The police will, however, allow sale and lighting of butterfly, fountain, jumbo regular and jumbo special, luces, roman candle, sparklers, trompillo, whistle, all kinds of pailaw.

Sale of other FCPDs, such as baby rocket, bawang, El Diablo, Judas’ belt, paper caps, pulling of strings, kwitis, and small triangle are regulated.

Tacderan warned violators that are liable to pay fines from P20,000 to P30,000, and may be imprisoned from six months up to a year, while manufacturers and suppliers stand to lose their business permits and all products will be confiscated.
