Arthur Celeste Jr. resigns as prexy, Carol Sison takes over

PHILIPPINE COUNCILORS’ LEAGUE -PANGASINAN

BOARD Member Arthur Celeste Jr. resigned from his post as president of the Philippine Councilors’ League (Pangasinan chapter) April 18, 2024, and as ex-officio member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP).

His successor, Carol Dizon Sison, the league’s vice president and a councilor of Alaminos City, assumed the vacated post in the SP on Monday, April 22.

Vice Governor Mark Lambino, presiding officer of the SP administered the oath to Sison as ex-officio member of the SP before the start of their regular session.

Lambino said Celeste submitted his April 15, 2024 resignation letter to Vertext Lao, and Atty. Raul Corro, national president and national chairperson respectively of the PCL, informing the SP of his resignation as president of PCL-Pangasinan Chapter effective April 18, following his resignation as councilor of Alaminos City.

On April 22, Celeste transferred his voter’s registration from Alaminos to Sual town where he is reportedly set to run as mayor against Mayor Lizeldo Calugay in next year’s elections.

Celeste is the son of First District Rep. Arthur Celeste and brother of Alaminos City Mayor Arth Bryan Celeste.

Sison previously held the position as an interim board member for three months in 2022 after then PCL-Pangasinan President and Board Member Sheila Marie Perez-Galicia’s term lapsed. (Eva Visperas)
