Congratulations to Ms. Cancino. As a matter of fact ALL of the teachers in the Philippines should be saluted for the work they do under adverse conditions. Teachers in the United States would quit in less than a week because of the environment and the material they have to work with. Dilapidated books, not enough paper, pens and pencils for the children who want to learn yet cannot afford to buy them. Yet, under these condition the teachers prevail. The country has a literacy rate of 97.5 percent of those 10 years and older and that rate is rising, The improvements of the country can only be credited to the teachers, especially the teachers in the poorer barangay schools,
