RE: Perez wins election protest vs. De Leon in Basista
De Leon dethroned . . .
Eventually, the long arm of justice dropped like a roar of thunder a bolt of lightning on the head of … Manolito De Leon … a mayoral candidate, who thought he could get away with fraud deceiving the good people of Basista, he tried to govern.
THE FORMER MAIL DELIVERY BOY . . .
Manolito De Leon, was a former unionized United States Postal worker, who retired after 20 years delivering mail in the undulating hills of California, evading snarling dogs in his daily rounds and probably walking thousands of miles eking a living.
In retirement, he came home to Basista to seek glory that evaded him in California, running for mayor like a burglar in the depth of night.
If I am not mistaken, this 2013 election is his reelection for the second term. So, he got elected the first time not getting caught.
REPUBLIC ACT 9225 OF 2003 . . .
Section 5, Article 2 states “Those seeking elective public office in the Philippines, shall meet the qualification for holding public office as required by the Constitution and existing laws and, at the time of the filing of the … certificate of candidacy … make a personal and sworn renunciation of any and all foreign citizenship before any public officer authorized to administer the oath.”
THE DUAL AMFIL CITIZENSHIP . . .
It’s not of ignorance he missed big time this absolute requirement under RA 9225, but of … extreme arrogance, thinking he can do anything he damned pleases by foolish assumption he can hoodwinked Basistans with eyes wide open.
And in so doing, his mind-boggling disrespect of the Constitution of the Philippines.
TASTE OF HIS OWN MEDICINE . . .
What goes around comes around, and for Manolito Sagun De Leon, this piece of stupidity SAGGED to a devastating defeat he will never recover, and has met his match … the new Mayor of Basista – Jocelyn Perez, who tirelessly exposed the … LIE.
