Re: Playing with Fire – Restoring the Dagupan seal

“Under this set-up, who can stop any Tom Dick and Harry from proposing a “SWASTIKA” seal of then East Germany ….”

Forget any Tom, Dick and Harry, and any betel, bangus, miklfish who has no adequate knowledge of Ashkenaz.

MODERN TIMES AND THE LIVING PAST …

The seal of East Germany (German Democratic Republic) was not a … SWASTIKA. From 1950-1953, after its absorption in the Soviet orbit after Potsdam, it was the hammer and a ring of rye, then it evolved from 1953-1955, with a … hammer; a compass; and surrounded by ring of rye. The symbolism caught in communism’s fervor – hammer for workers, compass for the intelligentsia, and rye for farmers.

THE SWASTIKA …

When the evil incarnate Hitler and his bunch of murderers came to power in 1933, the … swastika (an ornament in the form of a Greek cross with the ends of the arms extended at right angles) … was adapted as the symbol/insignia of the Nazis.

These misguided fools who believed the Aryan, is the dominant race destined to save the world from the Jew, from any human sub-specie.

It did not last long – 1933/1945 – after the war ended, it died with Hitler burned to ashes.

THE FLAG OF GERMANY …

After the reunification of modern day Germany (the west and east) on August 31, 1990, the German tricolor was adapted as the flag/symbol bundling every German irrespective of religion and politics. ___ The tricolor was made for the new Deutschland: black, red and gold in equal horizontal bands.

THE GONZLINGER’S WAY OF LOOKING CROOKED AT HISTORY …

As the chairman of Pangasinan Commission on Culture and the Arts, and saturated with a gaggle of historians and wide-eyed professors commissioned by Pareng Spines, to put in readable print the history of Pangasinan, which with fireworks, flamboyance and balderdash, is to be released soon (his words) to the Pangasinan reading public, could be a … bungle of Typhoon Yolanda … proportions.

If the Gonzlinger couldn’t put his facts together on this triviality alone, how can he be trusted on what this commission did, that after so many postponements, is the right ingredient?

With mistakes made, the possibility exists this literary work on Pareng Spine’s Pangasinan would be a … hot potato forcing him to drop it, without reading the synopsis.

And now, he is offered to do another historical work on Dagupan. If I were him, he should hold it in abeyance until the book on Pangasinan have been scrutinized.
