Re: Kim, the Giant Killer

I will have to forcefully disagree, that … Kim Henares, the nation’s top tax enforcer did the country disservice, when she drop the cudgel on Pacquiao’s head, to let him know, he owed the country the Pilipino people, a collectible tax on his boxing earnings.

THE DRAGON COMETH . . .

As done in the past, with the archaic BIR (B-igay I-kaw R-egalo), the agency tasked to do collecting the necessary lifeblood of the country, a quid pro quo has always been the way how … rich people … people with clout, used their influences to circumvent the law.

Kim Henares . . . the newly minted … no scruples … tax collector manning the watchtower, she could see the vast landscape of non-paying tax evaders unfolds before her eyes.

With a mandate from Malacaniang, to compel the limits of tax laws, we will see this action without discrimination – you owe you pay routine.

THE MGM GRAND ROUGE BAR . . .

Within the deep recesses of this casino resort hotel, this watering hole is the go-to-place where Pacquiao entertained his guest and friends after a winning fight.

His guests are mostly his kind – the reprehensible ex or present representaTHIEVES and their wives, brought in to watch him sitting by the ringside on a private jet, all the way from the ghettos the squatter areas of Manila.

If he can spend thousands of US dollars in wild abandon, the extravagance galore never seen in these parts of Vegas by an inexperienced Pinoy exposed for the first time in the glitter of the celebrity – then he should pay what’s due the tax collector willingly.

If he can spend millions of pesos on unneeded mansions, a golf course with rats swinging golf clubs, he should open his wallet and voluntarily drop down.

THE ALLEGATION . . .

What assertion?

Since Pacquiao came out the national scene, he became the symbol of the Pilipino fighting for recognition, its place in the world where the Pilipino is perceived as corrupt.

So, since he brought fame and recognition to the country, the precedent administrations of Estrada and Arroyo, did not pursue or even took a serious look on how much taxpesos he owed, but turned a blind eye not to rock the boat, not to unleash the fury of wide-eyed-Pacquiao ghetto admirers.

Now, that Pacquiao’s career is coming to an end and his coffers are still full not empty … Kim Henares … made the most astute move, though could face fiery critiques by those of thin-skinned-personas.

THE DON VITO DOGMA . . .

With all the hubbub it will bring, it comes down to . . . it’s not personal – it’s business!
