Re: Mayor Belen’s plaudits

This could be the crowning moment of Mayor Belen’s plans for Dagupan … a shining city on a hill … getting elected, darkened by the most despicable mayor that sat foot in its City Hall – the one who ransacked Dagupan of its riches, its talent, its prestige, its place in Pangasinan history … the one and only ex-Mayor Benjie LimAHONG, the notorious pirate since Blackbeard.
TOO EARLY TO TELL . . .
It would be foolhardy to jump the gun this early in Mayor Belen’s reign, to see any sign of success, when the city is broke, even having a hard time paying its bills.
However, with her management experience and dogged determination in tightening the budget, removing unnecessary cost of unwanted employees; she can pull Dagupan out from the quagmire … Benjie LimAHONG … created, then we can see the shining city on a hill once again.
A COMPARISON UNWARRANTED . . .
This is an political blunder, if Mayor Belen, is differentiated with Golda Meir or Indira Gandhi.
Though both of these leaders who became Prime Ministers of the countries – Golda Meir resigned in disgrace (April 11, 1974), after the military blunder of the Yom Kippur War in 1973, where she was blamed for the almost defeat of the Jewish state.
Indira Gandhi of India … also made the biggest political mistake of her life, when she ordered the assault by Indian Army troops, on the Sikh most sacred religious temple (Golden Temple)in Punjab where terrorists were hiding. For the massacre that followed, in retribution – she was gunned down by his most trusted … Sikh … bodyguards.
