Not responsible enough?

Re: Who’s the owner?
Yes, the letter writer does have the right to privacy. I believe that the reason the letter writer does not want to reveal the identity of the supermarket that is gauging the handicapped vendors is the fear of retaliation. I also believe that a responsible newspaper that professes to fight for the rights of the citizens, especially those who may be handicapped.
In the past the Sunday Punch had no qualms in publishing any hint of misdeeds that was allegedly perpetrated by members of the last administration. Let’s be fair. We know that Former Mayor Lim is connected with the Magic Supermarket chain. We also know that the present mayor, Belen Fernandez, is one of the owners of the CSI Supermarket chain. If the Simon Lagree in question is of the CSI chain, then I can understand the Punch’s reluctance to name those who would take food from the mouths of the handicapped.
Remember The Punch’s motto, “No man is to be reverenced more than the truth”. That motto also means the truth shall not be white-washed nor withheld from the public.
(Editor’s reply: The PUNCH published Ms. Jovellanos’ letter en toto to help call attention to the plight of our handicapped sector. Your “Simon Lagree” is free to write us as well. If you feel The PUNCH is not responsible enough, you don’t have to read it. Move on!).
