Re: Shahani – Espino still the best bet
With all the trash talk Board Member Ranjit Shahani hurled at Pareng Spines, he did have a sudden change of disposition like he woke up from a bad dream.
And effusively endorsed him as the electable governor for his last term in office pushing his cousin Mayor Braganza under the bus.
But first, we will have to go back when Ranjit (Rancid) Shahani, was declared a … persona non grata … by his peers.
That on July 18, 2012, in a press conference by Vice Governor Ferdie Calimlim made known – the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan which he’s the chairman were mad-as-hell, when Shahani accused Pareng Spines a … corrupt governor.
He also charged his fellow members of the Provincial Board as … lapdogs … who will do everything at Pareng Spines’ beck and call.
Board Member Von Mark Mendoza steam coming out his ears said, “I condemn in the strongest term the irresponsible acts and statements, which have impugned the integrity of the governor and the SP as a whole.”
In the denunciation of his reckless attitude, Shahani’s record of attendance was also brought up – he was an unscrupulous absentee who only appears as a 15-30 employee.
He was declared a fool, who was quick to say “I am sorry” when cornered like a rat he is.
WHY THE TURN AROUND? . . .
How come his dirty politics became clean so suddenly? The probability existed he was muzzled over by huge amount of moolah, and also her mother Leticia Ramos-Shahani changing political allegiances for … political survival … could have an influence on him, a man with volatile and childish mentality.
THE BUFFOONERY . . .
Speaking before forcefully gathered capitol employees on February 25th flag raising ceremony at the capitol plaza, he shouted to his audience “I salute him now serving as the governor-general of Pangasinan and commander-in-chief of the Republic of Pangasian.”
Pareng Spines: a governor–general? He should be stinking drunk giving him such grandiose title, perhaps in remembrance where his expatriate father came from … the India under the British Raj, when governor-generals ran rough shod over the timid and docile cow-glorifying-fearing-Hindus.
Since when Pangasinan became a republic? When it did secede from the Philippines? When did Pareng Spines become the commander-in-chief? Such grasp of history is so graphically lacking in knowledge and understanding, it made Pareng Spines look like a … clown.
THE ICING ON THE CAKE . . .
In his final push for Pareng Spines he said, “He should be re-elected for a third and final term, we’ll be closer to realizing the Golden Age of Pangasinan.”
Golden Age ____ He misunderstood this big time. When you speak of golden age, is that time in a country’s (not a state or province’s) history where general stability can be seen e.g., the golden age of Elizabeth I.
Or, did he say, “Golden Egg?” ____ Maybe, he tried to imply something Pareng Spines did not catch: anything he touches turn to … gold … like in Jueteng Gold.
