Re: Cynthia Villar … a made-to-order brouhaha
It was a seven (7) year old comment she made in passing, and hidden in Pandora’s Box, until she’s pushed into the arena of this filthy devil-may-care-rough-and-tumble-world of Pinoyland politics.
THE HAUNTING . . .
With her entry into the political fray, her eyes zeroed on the senate, her uncalled-for idiotic and derogatory assertion on Pinoy nurses as a whole; of ineptitude and indolence – brought forth a tsunami of enraged protest against her, and it’s causing a huge wildfire in cyberspace and no end in sight. It would be her burr in the saddle she could do without.
THE CRUSADE . . .
When these Pinoy nurses injected themselves into the Cynthia Villar quagmire, they did it emotionally, losing their heads in the process, if the intent, is to create a nationwide resistance for her getting elected.
But, they should put into consideration such movement’s easier said than done – words alone don’t win elections.
THE WISHFUL THINKING . . .
1) With the uproar in full swing though Villar put her foot in her mouth – can she win in this coming election? The probability exists she can win. ____ Whyyy? ___ The mentality of Pinoys how they vote specially from the grassroots, those who survives the daily battle against hunger couldn’t care less how Cynthia Villar looks like, either she’s an angel or a demon.
The tendency of voters nowadays gravitates to the absurd; the corrupt; the incompetent. And the huge blocks of votes comes from the … the barrios; the poor, the downtrodden; the out-of-luck … not these – nursing intelligentsia – who always vote with their brains their conscience, in contrast to those who vote on handouts and empty stomachs.
MONEY TALKS BULLCRAP WALKS . . .
The law of averages favors the one with a huge bankroll. And Cynthia Villar has tons of it!
To fight her in her own ground is foolhardy. The Philippine Nursing Association should know that by now.
IN MY MIND’S EYE . . .
I think, the nursing professionals in their passionate move to engage Cynthia Villar, are being taken for a ride.
The exposure of the comment made by her, could be a devilishly clever ploy by the Villar political machine, to put her in the forefront being a neophyte in the national arena, and to that, is bring something that will attract attention, create a huge impact on the electorate, and this hubbub did just that.
If this is the kind of game being played – it should be a political masterstroke.
She’s guilty as hell, but not … responsible!
