EMBROILED in messy transactions, Mayor Benjie Lim shall now come out and justify his actions before the May election. There are many questionable business deals but in the books of concerned citizens, the Awai lot deal tops them all.

Will that broker — reportedly his friend — return the tax payer’s money to the city coffer? Coming out clean with confusing justifications will not help his cause.

In the event that his broker-friend refuses to pay, will he allow the city to be at the receiving end of the deal? In other words, will he take the responsibility and pay the city?

He knows that if he does not act now and tell the truth surrounding the questionable deal, it will interfere with him getting out of the mess.

The coming local election will make or unmake him . . . the latter being the end-result.
