Re: Mel Jovellanos . . . Tangay-tangay ed Pozorrubio
It’s customary before you write something down – you should have your facts nailed down to avoid conflict, to avoid personal conflagration.
FACTS ABOUT TANGAY-TANGAY . . .
Sa’y talos na ayan palabra, alioan arawi todyo na isip. No ag ingen no nakalan kala’y pacayari ed labay mon gawaen.
In simple English “tangay-tangay” meant … you lose all hope of addressing a given problem. You give up!
NO CAPIGAN GINMAPO . . .
It started not during the days of the despicable Castillian, but during the rule of the Yankee in the early 20’s.
The story goes this way; “Two enterprising guys went to Pozorrubio’s town fiesta to sell a horse. ____ Diad antiquey ya tongtongan sa’y nanlakoan dad sama’y caballo – nipatalo dad sugal. Insan da alimeng ya anggapo manaya so ibayar dad luganan no onsempet ira. Canian tangay-tangay iran dua no panon dan ompaoil ed nanlapoan da.”
Next time, Mel Jovellanos, be sure of yourself!
