Who is trying to fool whom? Mayor Lim has been in politics long enough to know that what has been narrated by the other Belen would never work.

Yes, giving her the benefit doubts, Belen Tamondong Fernandez may have been duped but by whom? What proof has been shown that Mayor Lim was the instigator of the farce. We only have the words of a confused, possibly uneducated, elderly woman. An educated person would not sign her name to anything without first reading it.

Could it be that one Fernandez was acting on the behest of another? We know for a fact that the large majority of the voters vote for the name instead of by the platform.

If this were not true why have the voter elected so many Fernandez’s, including the inept last Al Fernandez, to the city council and mayor’s office. Also, what has been given to Belen Tamondong Fernandez, if anything, to have her withdraw her candidacy?

Sadly, we know in many cases that money talks in Philippine politics. Many questions remain unanswered and I know the Punch will never investigate if there is a chance that Her Highness could be hurt by the true facts of the case.

(Editor’s reply: Belen Tamondong Fernandez identified all persons who met her before she was brought to Mayor Lim’s house. It’s all in her sworn affidavit. Indeed money talks and if she was only as desperate as the Judas 9 to have more in life, she might just have a chance at owning a new motorcycle for her son and a new house for herself. Meanwhile, not one in his camp has come out to belie the claim of your  “confused, possibly uneducated, elderly woman.” You are the first and only one so far. Today, she and her family are now in hiding for fear of retaliation while BSL just left for the US to evade questions after a one-line denial. Seek him out, I’m sure he will love your company. )
