Re: Think about it

Reading your column I thought you were going to “America’s Manifest Destiny” which brought McKinley to Cmdr Dewy to Manila. Start of Pinoy’s in concentration camps. Being Fil-Am it is hard to look at what they did to Filipinos.

If you have time, please look at the pictures of Filipinos in American concentration camps. Same atrocities that Americans saw when they entered the war with Spain because of Cubans incarcerated by the Spanish. They said they wanted to save Cubans from inhumane treatment of Spanish because it was exactly what they did in Philippines, just because of their desire to be in the Imperialistic dream game.

But let us bring ourselves today. America is at point if it wanted to go back to the time when America had the richest corporations in the world. It had the Hearst, Getty, Roosevelt, etc…These people’s corporations provided jobs alright but did they provide the people with safety net President Lyndon Johnson put in place like Medicare, Social Security, and Medic Aid?

All you have to do again is to look at the 99 percent of Americans during the 1920 when they were queuing up in long food lines, and see their skeleton faces. In November, Americans will have a choice if they want a party of rich or party of the people. Or if they want to do away with Johnson’s safety net and bring everything back to the 1920s. During the 1920, trickle economics did not work. Rich people’s money stayed with rich and poor got poorer. You think it will work today?
