The top ‘n foxy provincial cop Sr. Supt. Mariano Verzosa did not make a mistake in taking the position – Pangasinan – is free from the ravages of jueteng.
But, retired Arzobispo Oscar Cruz laughed his brains out – thinking it’s hilarious, that only weird creatures coming from the red planet ought to believe in it.
THE SWITCHEROO . . .
This comeuppance coming from Verzosa, was taken in the belief; the wily old obispo has come to his intellectual end. This obispo missed the fundamental approach, to see how a classic shell game was pulled on him.
THE JAI-ALAI THAT NEVER WAS . . .
Truly . . . jueteng was given the last rites, deep-sixed to Davy Jones locker, but like the … Phoenix … that legendary bird who burned itself in a pyre rose from the ashes to assume another life.
Arzobispo Cruz misreading the name change, was an extreme surprise unto himself, how he overlooked the shallowness the purveyors of jueteng played the game.
It’s not so bewildering, and how could he blundered, likened to when disposing his alb into civilian clothes – still he’s recognizable.
Arzobispo Oca Cruz … should prostate himself before the altar of righteousness, and admit shout to high heavens – jueteng/jai-alai is ingloriously unbeatable.
