Benjie the capitalist, Belen the socialist?

The difference between MAYOR Ben Lim and VICE Mayor Belen Fernandez is that MAYOR Lim believes in the concept of capitalism, while the VICE Mayor is a socialist. Even though Her Highness may be an owner of a large business, through inheritance, most of her wealth is probably tax sheltered so she can act as benevolent dictator taking money from the “rich” to give to those of lesser means.
On the other hand MAYOR Lim knows that a city cannot survive by taking money only from the well to do. In order to run a city AND provide for its citizens, businesses have to be encouraged to build and grow, and if necessary, be given a tax break. The city need taxes from businesses, the workers they hire and money the workers spend on other things. Without businesses a city will soon become a stagnant pool of empty building.
In the U.S. Obama is trying to turn a successful capitalist country into a socialist one. Unemployment is rocketing, the U.S. debt has grown from $280 billion to $3 TRILLION in less than 4 years with his notion of taxing the “rich.” The U.S. international credit ratings have been downgraded has. He forgets that taxes take money from investors. The less money for investment the less jobs. The less jobs the less taxes. The only growth is by creating more government jobs. Government needs taxes. Socialism doesn’t work. A socialist government needs taxes to exist. Without a tax base primarily based from business the government eventually becomes a totalitarian state. He hasn’t learned, due to his lack of business acumen, that Utopia is unattainable under a socialist system,
Socialism may be compassionate but you cannot feed hungry stomachs under socialist rule. China found that out. Although a communist country, China did not come into its own until it began its move toward capitalism.
It would seem that everything Her Highness has done is to create a socialist (totalitarian) city with her and future Fernandez’s on the throne.
