Re: The Punch – gracious in defeat
Which bring us to the sorry spectacle of Pinoys wringing their hands, gnashing their teeth, crocodile tears rolling down their cheeks, and highly charged emotions that, again … Jessica Sanchez … wuz robbed.
The agony of defeat . . .
Could Jessica Sanchez pulled it off? No, she couldn’t! Not in a setting where the end games, is measured on how much … dollars … someone can generate.
And Jessica, is not that impressive, to corral paying crowds, to drop three ($300.00) hundred dollars a pop – to watch her perform at the Coloseum.
The thrill of victory . . .
That went up like a rocket, and came down roaring in flames.
It was not the first time Pinoys were in ecstatic adulation, when Charice Pempelco appeared at the MGM Grand with David Foster.
Her voice was heavenly – according to the wide-eyed, the unsophisticated, and the blind – that anybody watching her, thought she was … manna from Valhalla … but then it fizzled like a hot rod immersed in ice-cold water.
Now, Charice couldn’t be found. She disappeared into the Sierras, in the high country not to be seen again.
Her repertoire, was replaced by Jackie Evancho, a promising young kid with an operatic voice, that every time she raises the tone of her voice, you can see – the angels of Michelangelo – clapping in wild abandon.
So, it’s not about race, the color of your skin – it’s all in the name of … capitalism.
