What’s the big deal?

Re: A WAIVER FOR THE RICH

So what’s the big deal. A house is built on an empty city lot. The owner of the home stipulates in a notarized affidavit that she will remove the house at no cost to the city when asked to. Electricity has been wired to the house which will be of use to the city in the future after the house is removed. The lot had not been in use by the city and will be returned to the city in the same condition as before the construction. The only thing that I would be concerned with is if there has been no taxes or rent paid to the city. Otherwise, there is no loser.

It seems to me that there should be more concern about the PERMANENT embankment/levee the good vice mayor wants to build around her fishpond. Her plan is ecologically dangerous to the environment in that it will impede the natural flow of the river. Also, after the reinforced concrete levee is built what is to stop her highness from filling the “fish pond” for her riverside villa. I’m sure the Punch editor will have no objection to this since the Punch can see no fault with Her Highness.
