Re: Abandoned
Looking deeply at this deserted shell – a look-alike of the Martians’ machines – of The Benjie’s unabated adventure in corruption, it forced me once again, to dig from my collection gathering dust – the famous work of fiction . . . The War of the Worlds . . . by H.G. Wells.
It was the sudden arrival of these destructive species to do uncalled damage to earth’s fragile environment. Only the hidden and disregarded elements of this planet’s defensive mechanisms put an abrupt end on this unwanted invasion.
The Benjie – curse his rotten soul, is the Martian on Dagupan’s economic destruction. He’s here to wreak havoc on Dagupeños livelihood, to make profit come-what-may in any-which-way he can.
The viral impediment . . .
Likened to what happened to this peeled-like-an-onion project of The Benjie and his feebleminded investor, the ever watchful SP, is the only good thing that separates the wizzle-wazzle of this low-life mayor from reality.
The poltroonery . . .
At first glance, it could be gathered The Benjie, is a big man to be reckon with, like Alan Ladd in . . . Shane.
When he did the unthinkable of doing city business without SP sanctions, building a bistro-to-be in private land without consent, encroaching on government property without due process, and all these shit he put himself in.
But, when push comes to shove, he is a pushover. A man whose . . . balls . . . are smaller than seeds of a . . . cantaloupe!
