Paying the heavy price

The floods in Pangasinan, Tarlac Pampanga, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija and Rizal are so devastatingly expensive that seeing the damage these last few days with my eyes it is unbelievable status quo is acceptable to all these people affected.
The corrupt could not raise their houses high enough in these areas that I think they will demand action from their government. Maybe years back when the people were not heavily taxed they were just contented with unfunded flood control projects but today people feel the heavy tax burden.
Lets just hope we all do not pay heavy price before the government will act.
