Re: Ombudsman dismisses San Carlos City cashier
The saying that “Money is the root of all evil” was given meaning in the case involving the acting disbursing officer of San Carlos City who claimed, after cashing a cheque, to have been robbed of 9 million pesos right inside the Land Bank of the Philippines. It’s the weakest if not the most stupid alibi ever concocted by a perpetrator. With her line of reasoning, she virtually sealed her “monetary” downfall. The robbery taking place inside the bank? Tell that to the marines?
Fast buck is the name of the game! People, and there are lots of them, employed the “get-rich-scheme” believing that they could get away from it. As the ad-lib-loving announcer Max ‘Tartariwa’ Mendiguarin oftenly said, “Crime does not pay but the criminals do”.
It’s not her political “Waterloo” as she is not a politician. A social outcast, perhaps, but it could be “cured” as time goes by. But something inevitable will surely haunt her … she will be the talk in Binalatongan, the city the first Speaker of the House calls home.
The worst post scenario that will happen is that the amount involved might not be enough to pay for the services of decalidad, nay, opportunist-lawyers.
