Re: Keeping Pangasinan language alive
As it should be. I’ve been living here in States for 37 years and to this day I still speak Pangasinan. I was born and raised in Alaminos, Pangasinan. My husband and I speak Pangasinan at home and our three children were all born in States and they understand Pangasinan but they just can’t speak it but they understand practically all the words.
When we get together with my family (brothers and sister, in-laws, kabaleyans) we speak Pangasinan. When we take a vacation in Alaminos we speak Pangasinan but I noticed that the people who migrated in our town speak Tagalog and I said “what happened to Pangasinan?” Amazing!
