Lee Kuan Yew led the people that majority of them agree with death penalty among other strict laws that they enforce without exemption.
The death penalty was abolished by GMA and JDV because plunder of 50 million pesos is punishable by death. Everybody knows that most of the corrupt officials are supposed to face the death penalty but with corrupt justice system in alliance with the Roman Catholics, there is no chance for reforms or discipline.
