Agree with you that Antonio Dumlao is not a Michelangelo or Vargas but he sure was honored in his days as a premiere painter. He even won the “Best Female Category” for Sultana. Having said that and not seen his Urduja painting with how you describe “imprecise topography” of her landscape mount being in wrong place could I ask for clarification if Dumlao’s figurative style of “kanlalake” or Amazon female anatomy plays a part?
Here in Philadelphia’s Art Museum that is open to art lovers and admirers I noticed that when they have painting that fully expresses more than anatomical expression they manage to build safeguards like signs or viewing area above a child’s reach.
