Their influence is a myth

The Filipino family really listened to the government or church when it comes to having kids? I thought the size of the families was dictated by the work to be done during my laki and bae time. I listened to stories that my dad had to wake up collect the banana with his brothers so they have feeds for their pigs, put out the cows, and some head out to the fishponds and my aunts doing household chores.

Nowadays with livelihood no longer centered in the household, no one has time to care for the kids or stay around the kubo. We could be hard pressed to see any family members in our kubo.

I am sure the myth of government influence or church as primary consideration of size of our clan was not high on anyone’s scoring card.

Now we are civilizing ourselves by this fight in Congress on RH bill to consider the size of Filipino unit? Am I missing the real agenda here?
