Re: Human errors and fears
Edwin said, “Chernobyl and Three Mile Island nuclear disasters were caused by human errors, as are the thousands of auto accidents every day.”
It may be caused by human errors, but auto accidents only involve people in cars and that’s it; responding police officers, tow truck drivers, and witnesses are not affected. Everything is back to normal after the conclusion of the investigation. Nuclear accidents affect those operating the plant but also those people living within several hundred miles of the plants. In Japan, it is one hundred miles from the Fukushima reactor: at this range, it would affect all the people in Pangasinan and also those living in Manila.
A car accident will not degrade the flora and fauna around the accident. A nuclear accident, in contrast, will stain the plants, the soil, the drinking water (water wells), the animals living within several miles from the nuclear reactor. These elements are not usable for thousand of years.
Edwin said, “If every one feared things they did not understand we would all still be living in caves.”
Edwin, we’re still living in caves. It’s just a different form of a cave. It has, for its walls, dry walls over wood studs, and roofs with either asphalt shingles or concrete tiles rather than rock walls as in caves.
Edwin said, “If every one feared things.”
Edwin, Filipinos don’t fear things; it’s about taking care of families still living in the Philippines.
