Re: Nuke in fault zone?

Mr. Ceralde, I would gladly put a nuclear reactor on my property if it would keep me from having to pay an electric company exorbitant fees. These companies are loaded with a bunch of overpaid bureaucrats trying to shove “smart meters” down our throats. These companies fear the political eco-maniacs more than doing their jobs providing safe reliable power to the people.

In the area where I live, the San Francisco bay area, there are many petroleum refineries. There have been many accidents in them. Yet, after needed repairs and upgrades, they continue to produce a needed commodity. This is the same with nuclear power. You do not close hundreds of plants because of a freak act of God. You rebuild and make them less vulnerable to such damages.

I hope that you do not drive a car. Your way of thinking was prevalent when cars first hit the road. Backward-thinking people did not want these contraptions on the road. Horses bucked and ran amok at the sound of these smoke belching monstrocities. As the automobile improved, the horse drawn buggies ceased to exist and the horses were soon put to pasture. Mankind cannot progress unless he is willing to take a chance.

Mr. Ceralde, I bet the first time you kissed a girl you were terrified. But after the first kiss I know you went back for more. Think of anything new, be it machinery, nuclear power, whatever, the same way. After a while your fears will disappear. Nothing is 100 percent safe, not even your first kiss.
