Re: 5 suspended over NAT leak

Here you go again, Corruption within the education system. One has to wonder if there is still hope for the Philippines to curb corruption. Unless people are prosecuted and given maximum punishment, corruption will always linger around.

The question is how were the teachers able to get a hold of the test questions? It is a shame that someone has to go the extent of this magnitude of corruption and put Mangaldan Central School in this kind of embarrassment. They tarnished the moral and integrity of their school especially the innocent students. People will perceive that students in Mangaldan Central School have no potential skills to tackle NAT due to the incident that is why the teachers have to do desperate measures to ensure that their students survive the test. It is so sad that some teachers who have nothing to do with the leakage are also affected.

The government should take measures to secure the National Examinations documents.
Most of us are always focused on the test scores not the potential of a child.

Teaching or reviewing the students with the actual test is an outright disservice to the students. The test serves as a screening tool to measure the students’ potentials. If they fail so be it. At least one would know that the student is not ready for college. How many students go to college and find themselves failing? They are unable to cope-up with skills needed to survive college.

Superintendent Raguindin, said she is embarrassed with the incident. Yes, it is a total shame that it happened under your nose. I am sure the teachers involved in the anomaly must have taught honesty to their student. How can they see their students eye to eye now since they themselves did not practice what they preached.
