Biased reporting?

I find it amazing that there could be such a wide disparity in reporting the same event. Regarding the sangguniang panglunsod (SP), the mayor did not refuse the SP’s invitation to give the SOC to them, it was the SP insistence that it wanted the mayor to give the address in the council chambers so that they could pack the room with anti-Lim people. The SP’s plan was foiled when the mayor gave the address at the Peoples Astrodome.

Mr. Garcia, you claim that the Astrodome was packed with Mayor Lim’s supporters. You failed to mention that over two thousand (Mayor Lim’s supporters?) attended the address. How many anti-Lim people did Madam Fernandez manage to pack into the council chamber. Who knows, she probably had to put out some pesos to get them to come. Many more went to the Astrodome to hear the real problems plaguing the city and hear possible solutions. The people are concerned about the city’s future not the ranting of a empress wanna-be decrying the fact that her namesake former do nothing mayor was justly defeated in the last election. This woman will do anything to get her way, regardless of the negative outcomes of her actions.

I find it fascinating that a newspaper such as the Punch could be so biased in its reporting. Biased reporting is what will bring down not only the city but also the country. Were it not for the Forum, (thank you,) the people of Dagupan would never know the truth of what is happening in the city.
