Back in the early 1960’s, as a young man, I worked on oceans going tugs. These were not the normal sea going tugs but converted harbor tugs with a crew of 12.
When the weather was calm and my work was done, I would sit on the deck letting the water wash over me as I watched the dolphins crisscrossing the bow of the boat or race along side. These were creatures enjoying their freedom and frolicking in the ocean. What a blessing it was to be able to watch these magnificent mammals up close.
I hope that more of dolphins continue to visit around 100 Islands so that others can experience what I had the honor of having done. I also hope that the government does everything in their power to see that these dolphins are kept safe.
