Re: Capitol to probe dikes at Hundred Islands
Alaminos Mayor Hernani Braganza finds it “very unfortunate and irresponsible” that the provincial government has shown concern about dykes in the Hundred Island National Park. Thank God someone has shown some sanity in investigating the dikes. If the dikes are allowed to remain how long before the park if is crisscrossed with more dykes and fish pens.
The beauty of the park is now beginning to bring more tourists from into the area and the entire province. When the airport is completed more will come but not if the proliferation of dikes and/or fish pens is not stopped.
I sincerely hope that Mayor Braganza’s indignation is not being caused by “personal financial reasons.” My wife and I recently bought a house in Sual because of the scenic beauty of the area and to be closer to Hundred Islands. I hope that the government orders the dismantling of the dikes either through eminent domain or the non-renewal of the lease if one exists.
