Re: Capitol’s motive on 100 Isles hit

This is my take on this news about the Hundred Islands.

Appoint an independent environmental scientist who is impartial, non-partisan and no interest in politics nor will be bought (bribed) to investigate, and study the impact of fishponds (if there are actually existing fishponds) around Hundred Islands.

It’s understandable that Mayor Braganza is defensive about this issue because it takes away the revenue from Alaminos City but the most important part here is the long-term impact on the environment. Why would anyone in their right mind build fishponds around the sea or ocean, that’s outrageous! The Hundred Islands is owned by the people, not any private families or special interests.

So that is my suggestion to Governor Espino and Congressman Celeste. Put aside any self-interest, politics, do the right thing for the good of the environment and the people of Alaminos City but most of all for the tourists who will witness the beauty of the Hundred Islands. So stop the bickering and finger pointing, do the right thing! Enjoy the beauty and splendor of nature! Protect the environment!
