Re: Punchline
Mr. Garcia, your commentaries are hard-hitting, parang mga suntok ni Manny Pacquiao (Pacman). You hit the nail squarely on the head, you are, indeed, a chip off the old block…like your father.
During the first term of Gov. Spines, maraming nagsulputang projects and infrastructures sa Pangasinan, mabilis kumilos, very decisive, action agad, a quality of a good leader. Just like the Arroyo administration, maraming projects, both are tireless workers, kaya lang sa natonal level she spends like a drunken sailor.
Lets see if his political will could translate into stopping the jueteng menace and payola culture. Vice Gov. and vocals nag cop-out sa kanilang tungkulin. What is cop-out? May isang pulis na nakitang may nangyayaring nakawan sa palengke at sa halip na sitahin para matigil ito, umuwi na lang feeling outnumbered and outgunned. Puwede naman siyang magtext para humingi ng backup di ba?? Why are they behaving like this?? Is it because he is the one buttering their bread??? Mga sipsip ba kayo or what???
I am still puzzled if Gov. Spines is a gambling lord or not? You could ask the gambling lords who are eased out of operations. Nagkaroon ng political changes sa itaas kaya may pagbabago rin sa baba pagdating sa jueteng, bagong ninong, bagong connection at posibleng mga bagong operators.
Unlike drug wars where there are violent confrontations, when it comes to protecting their turfs sa jueteng it is the opposite dahil siguro medyo disciplinado ang mga players, it is swept under the rugs and everybody is happy.
Gov. Spines is a very smart guy (quick understudy). He was able to turn the provincial gov’t into a cross between Marcos regime and Arroyo’s form of governance. Projects and infrastructures are visible testaments to their legacies years from now. Kaya lang he is also building his own cronies (sila-sila lang ang yumayaman) and you know who gets the lion’s share. With a rubber stamp vocals who follow his every biddings, whims and caprices, he is well entrenched.
I could also see the militarization of top sensitive posts in the province like the Orduna brothers, Col. Pat and Ric, both are also political proteges, operations chief, arms and muscle of Gov. Spines. Invincible, bullet proof, Who would dare to stop him??? This alliance go way, way back.
During the Edsa revolution, FVR supporters are the police and constabulary. Gov. Spines was one of the early supporters being a provincial commander in Pangasinan and the Orduna brothers were his junior officers during his stint in Pangasinan. If you really want to know if Gov. Spines is into being a gambling lord or operator then you have to ask his trusted lieutenants just like asking Senator Lacson, he will always deny but measure the testimonies of Col. Mancao, Aquino, etc.
Just be careful because you might suffer the fate of ICARUS from Greek mythology.
