Dear Mr. Van S. de Leon:
You pointed out a very interesting point-the potential for disaster on the bridge portion. Without the highway, the entire area including all of the fishponds are “floodways” that allow the draining of massive floodwaters.
Now that there is the JDV highway “dam” that will be further “reinforced and heightened”, the floodwaters will be forced to flow along the rivers at much higher velocity because it is restricted by siltation and the fish pens. This will result in higher flood level of the surrounding area but it will erode or dredge the river and dismantle the fishpens.
Very good, the city will save some money for the dredging and demolition. But the worst part will be the potential DISASTER-the bridge and its approaches could possibly be washed away.
Tama na naman ang mga “smart engineers”-malaking RACKET na naman! Sinong may sabi na hindi marurunong ang mga Filipino engineers?
