Apparently, you don’t know the culture of the Filipino people: private pigpens are considered “normal” in the provinces, and there’s nothing wrong with raising pigs at their own backyard.
Your abhorrence to this practice is a consequence of your not being a Filipino at all but a foreigner in a privilege country masquerading as Pangasinanse. You know nothing about the people of Pangasinan.
What would you learn from a mere three weeks in the province? For three weeks, you’ll only be surrounded by characters like fawning dogs. You should live in Pangasinan for no less than several years to feel what is being like to be a Pangasinanse.
