RE: lying

I agree with you four squares
on your assessment. Self-preservation is paramount (higher calling) than lying perse that’s why we have saints, martyrs, heroes who sacrifice their own life so not to compromise their beliefs and convictions.

Are you willing to put your neck on the line in the name of God or your country or your family???? This question is for everybody.

Judas Iscariot betrayed our Lord for 30 pieces of silver and St. Peter denies our Lord 3 times
to fulfill the prophecy. While the other one tries to return the money and hangs himself to the tree, the other one repents and ask for God’s mercy and forgiveness.

According to Machiavellian thinking the end justifies the means. If you commit little evil things for the purpose of a greater good (effect) later on then that is generally acceptable.
Just like the torture victims if they cant take it anymore they will admit anything like they are communist, NPA, thief, arsonist, drug dealers and will even say that they are Jesus if that’s what the captors/torturers want to hear.

What we don’t want is a pathological liars who wants to lie for the sake of lying and feel good about it, telling you in straight face without a hint of remorse.

Kaya kayong mga boto patrollers, if you face grave dangers in protecting the ballots
BACKOFF, be alert and remember the
events, people, faces and names of the perpetuators. Unless you want to be a hero. In the end truth/good
 always triumphs over evil.
