Re: Disappointing arguments

Dr. Jeremias Andrade Carrera

It is because of people like your James D. Boyd that have made California the mess it is. They advocated the use of MTB in gas until one of the radio stations in San Francisco forced the Energy Commission to admit that it was a carcinogen and was poisoning the drinking water because it did not biodegrade.

PG&E, an electric company in California, built one of the largest windmills in the world near Susun City. It was later demolished it because it was not cost effective and was always in danger of crashing to the ground in high winds.

Energy produced by wave action has also been experimented with. That, too, was not cost effective. Because of political appointees like James D. Boyd, California produces some of the most expensive energy in the U.S., be it wind, fossil fuel, or solar powered.

I take exception with your imbecilic sense of humor. I am not a doctor nor have I ever professed to have any degree what so ever. You seem to think everyone’s rear end reeks except yours.

What I dislike are people who leave their homeland to live comfortably abroad because they seem to think they are better and smarter than the average Filipinos. It is people like you who do not think the Filipinos are capable of modern technology that has kept the Philippines from advancing. It is because of people like you who hide their heads in the sand, thinking every technological advancement is one day closer to doomsday.

I am not a citizen of the Philippines, not because I do not want to but because I cannot. I was born in the La Union of mixed parentage. I return to the Philippines at least once a year. I am elated by every improvement I see every time I return, no matter how minor.

Imagine what would Japan be like today if MacArthur did not bring them to the 20th century. Japan is what it today because they forged ahead with modern technology. I don’t know how many wind or solar power farms are there. I do know that 80 percent of their power is nuclear.

No, Dr. Carrera, I do not hold any degree in engineering but I do not sit in my palace while I watch my beloved country slide backwards because some guy who used the Air Force to leave his birth land and others refuse to admit that the Philippines has the ability and brain power to go into the twentieth century.

And, oh yes, they do not need the Air Force to train them how to run a nuclear power plant.
