Re: Get Rich Quick/Fair justice System

Dear Mr. Rayos:

I sincerely want to believe you in your belief that most Filipinos are decent, but how do you explain their decision to repeatedly vote for corrupt politicians like JDV, Arroyo, etc.

Is repeatedly voting for and electing corrupt politicians an act of decency? Log on to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vETZ4LnZ-g&feature=related.

How do you explain the selling of their votes comes election time as decency? If most Filipinos are not corrupt, then most of the children are growing up with good moral character by just emulating what they observe in their decent parents and their decent surroundings.

My wife is a certified teacher who retired from the public schools and now teaching in a catholic school, and I am a registered professional engineer, both product of the late Blas F. Rayos’ Dagupan Colleges/University of Pangasinan and hard work (hindi binayaran ang diploma at certification/license), so we know and agree with your lecture on the subject of parents depending on the teacher to teach morality, discipline, and communicating and teaching our children.

However, I still believe that to help instill and maintain good moral character in the citizens, the GOVERNMENT must “lead by example”.

The citizens will follow the rule of law if the GOVERNMENT is firm, but must not be complacent like “pasensiyahan mo na anak” when someone commits transgression against them.

I am sure most Filipinos overseas are “decent” law-abiding and hard working citizens because the government of their adopted country or the host country is not as broken or not as “CORRUPT” like the Philippines. As a government becomes corrupt, so goes the moral values of most of its citizens.
