The ugly and inconvenient truth

Re: Pangasinan’s 420 years old
Historical facts dug out from the boneyard of The Gonzlinger?
Really?
In the not so distant past, on November 3, 1948, one of the most prestigious papers in America . . . Chicago Tribune’s banner headline on the front page, a fast on the draw DEWEY DEFEATS TRUMAN.
It became the standard of incompetent newspaper reporting – when to get ahead of the game, and before the facts were in, the Tribune played with fire and got burnt.
How sure was the Sunday Punch on its Valentines Day issue, the facts put on a rotting wooden platter by one of its columnist, and believe in it without a blink of an eye?
If The Gonzlinger facts should be believed, it’s the Sunday Punch’s obligation to . . . print . . . for the Pangasinense to see what was decided upon in a smoke-filled room over bottles of San Miguel and the ever present . . . pinapaitan.
Is the Pangasinense taken for granted?
For fools?
The ugly and inconvenient truth . . .
This might will be the Sunday Punch’s eulogy!
(Editor’s comment: The news item was based on the committee’s report not on Gonz Duque’s personal research in his capacity as columnist but as chairman of the special committee created for the purpose. The item carried the assumptions the committee made for the recommendation based on its research findings. In fairness to the committee, it did not claim its findings are conclusive. Your own findings would be welcomed by the committee).
