RE: SP hit for hasty approval
The date that Pangasinan will live in infamy – to borrow the quotation from Franklin Delano Roosevelt. We need leaders who are not only politicians but also steward of the fragile environment. Leaders who are responsible and responsive to the needs of the common man. We are few steps away from building a nuclear plant with an election of a governor who is supportive of this idea. Are you willing to take the risk?
Radioactive materials are very toxic and they stay almost forever since the half-life of these materials takes along time to degrade. Do not compare the developed countries who have the technology, expertise and experience. Despite these safeguards, there is no guarantee that meltdowns won’t happen.
Remember Chernobyl and the Three Mile Island accidents. Murphy’s Law states that things that could go wrong will go wrong. Informed language is not only educative, but is also our greatest force against greed and materialism.
Politics is also about debating and compromising but the safety of Pangasinan is non-negotiable. Itaga ninyo ito sa bato.
I hope and pray na maliwanagan sana ang isipan ng bawat isa. In the end, human good will always triumph over human evil. The radioactive materials are not the most toxic and dangerous element that belongs to the human heart and a guile tongue. Walang manloloko kung hindi tayo magpapaloko.
