Re: Equalizers in life
You expressed beautifully the concept of life’s equalizers. God’s love is indeed the greatest equalizer. The Bible states: “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love…. We love because he first loved us” (1 John 4:8, 19). Interestingly, when I checked my concordance, the word love, and its derivatives, is used 551 times in the Bible. This shows that love is the core message of God to us.
When asked about the greatest commandment, Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind…. Love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:37-39). Even with all our flaws and shortcomings, we can strive to love God and others.
One way to demonstrate love, as you said, is “to respect other people’s views.” We can disagree, but not being disagreeable. We can learn from each other because education is an ongoing process.
Let’s continue the rational, respectful and constructive dialogue!
