Re: McAdore Hotel unsafe
“Tabingi siya konti”, barked Alvin “Chipmunk” Fernandez, the city administrator, in admission McAdore Hotel, is not up to expectations in any shape or form.
Let’s double back when The Chipmunk, was the vice mayor of Dagupan with the notorious . . . The Benjie . . . when this building was bought in a buying frenzy of unimaginable proportions backed-up by loans from the Land Bank of the Philippines.
As everybody now knew, it was a debacle of devastating results for Dagupan – left behind drowning in debt stunting its economic growth.
Well, when did The Chipmunk know the building was unsafe and how did he know it?
Maybe, he did not know right off the bat – until now – when it was put up for rental, and thorough structural inspection revealed the ugly and inconvenient truth.
The building . . . is chancy for occupancy!
But, his hands were in the cookie jar all along with The Benjie in what we can call . . . The Rape of the Dagupan.
With the health of this building in question, The Chipmunk chipped in to upgrade the electrical wiring and plumbing?
For what . . .
What reason given Dagupan to such gargantuan expense to a building that’s for all intents and purposes . . . a wreck?
Kickbacks? Probably so!
Now, this ballyhooed Mayor Apiong’s administration is a derelict like the dredging machine at Pantal. It’s a delegated kind of governance to The Chipmunk, while Apiong’s too busy tending his bangus fishpond at Bacayao.
Who’s worthless, The Benjie or Apiong?
Both.
The worst evils of its kind!
